This was the first ball marker concept I created for Show Out.
The original idea was simple: make a small run of promotional markers to hand out at the 2025 WM Phoenix Open. For the front, I wanted something that felt distinctly Arizona, so I chose a roadrunner, a bird I see intermittently around my neighborhood.
The rest of the design took inspiration from that year’s Phoenix Suns City Edition uniforms, from the typography and rear layout to the geometric tribal-inspired border.
At the time, it was just an experiment and a fun piece to put in people’s hands. I had no idea that little roadrunner would eventually become the starting point for the Show Out brand identity and, ultimately, the logo itself.
